Microsoft has updated its mainstream Surface line-up with more power, and new configurations.
The conglomerate refreshed the Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 2, packing new 10th generation Intel Ice-Lake processors, an additional USB-C port, and fast charging through the Surface Connect input.

Surface Pro 7
- Same and familiar 12.3-inch PixelSense display
- 10th generation Intel Ice-Lake processors, available with i3 (1005G1), i5 (1035G4), and i7 (1065G7) with Intel UHD (i3) or Iris Plus 950 GPU (i5 and i7)
- New USB-C port (not Thunderbolt 3), alongside existing USB-A, microSD slot, and headphone jack
- Surface Connect port now offers fast charging
- Surface Pen and Type Cover remains unchanged and still optional – but includes new colours: Poppy Red, Ice Blue, Platinum, and Black
- New colours for magnesium chassis: Platinum or Black
- Available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB solid state drives (SSD); 8GB or 16GB RAM
- Modular hardware design ensures easier repairability and replaceable SSD

Surface Laptop 3
- Same and familiar 13.5-inch PixelSense touch display
- 15-inch now available
- 13-inch only: 10th generation Intel Ice-Lake processors, available with i5 (1035G7), and i7 (1065G7) with Intel Iris Plus 950 GPU
- 15-inch only: AMD Ryzen 5 3580U or Ryzen 7 3780U with Radeon Vega 9 or 11 GPU respectively
- New USB-C port (not Thunderbolt 3), alongside existing USB-A and headphone jack
- Surface Connect port now offers fast charging
- New colours: Black, Sandstone, Platinum, and Cobalt Blue
- Selected colours in Alcantara wrist-rest: Platinum (13-inch only) and Cobalt Blue
- Selected colours in Aluminium wrist-rest: Sandstone, Platinum, and Black
- 15-inch only available in Platinum or Black
- Available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB solid state drives (SSD); 8GB or 16GB RAM

Surface Pro X
- Same chassis with Surface Pro 7, but increases PixelSense screen to 13-inches by minimising bezels
- Thinner and lighter body without fans
- Powered by Microsoft SQ1 mobile Qualcomm processor with Adreno 685 GPU and LTE connectivity
- Two USB-C ports only (not Thunderbolt 3)
- Surface Connect port offers fast charging
- Optional Surface Type Cover stows the Surface Pen Slim at the top, and is hidden when propped-up
- New Surface Slim Pen is more compact and flat, charged wirelessly in the Type Cover (both optional and black only)
- No headphone jack
- Available in Black colour only
- Available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB solid state drives (SSD) with 8GB or 16GB RAM
- Modular hardware design ensures easier repairability and replaceable SSD
