PSA: iOS 13 brings Animoji and Memoji stickers to older iPhone’s

Supporting more Apple ‘fun’.

Surprisingly not detailed, Apple’s latest iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 software release brings cute Animoji and Memoji stickers to older devices.

The Cupertino giant’s release of its latest mobile operating systems bring Animoji and Memoji stickers to devices that do not contain the TrueDepth camera that debuted with the iPhone X and iPad Pro (2nd generation).

While video recording still requires the TrueDepth array, iPhone’s with Touch ID and older iPad’s can now take advantage of ‘stickers’ which are essentially pre-made emoji’s that can be sent in any application via the Apple keyboard.

Animoji’s are the company’s ‘fun’ take on animals with representations ranging from the poo, skeleton, cow and fox, just to name a few; while Memoji’s allow users to customise their own animated human characters of themselves (or others) with different face shapes, hair types, and head accessories.

This follows the release also bringing 3D Touch-like functionality to all products, including the iPhone SE, with Haptic Touch contextual menus.

iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 brings new features including a dark mode, unobtrusive volume slider, improved Siri integration with third-party apps, tweaked Apple CarPlay interface, and more.
