Reviving the fabled smartwatch.
An updated Moto 360 smartwatch will return in December 2019 with new styles and specifications, but is revived from Canadian tech firm, ‘eBuyNow’.
According to the company, they have over 15 years experience in partnering with brands for product and services development.
eBuyNow has bought the licensing of the short-lived smartwatch and will sell the new Moto 360 (2019) under the Motorola branding and retail stores.
The smartwatch brings a few tweaks to match 2019’s standards, including Steel Grey, Rose Gold or Phantom Black casing colours, with 20 millimetre leather and rubber straps included.
It is also 3ATM water-resistant, too, claiming it can sustain up to 10,000 ‘casual swimming’ or water activity strokes.
As per its second generation predecessor, it retains the two buttons on the right but the upper button now houses a rotating crown to navigate Google’s latest WearOS software, while the lower can be customised to launch any app.
The infamous ‘flat-tire’ on its circular screen has now been removed for a true 360-degree OLED display at 1.2-inches (360 x 360 pixels at 327ppi) and always on-display functionality.
Furthermore, it is claimed that the watch can charge from 0 per-cent to full in only 60 minutes with its 355mAh battery, and has WearOS’ ‘Battery Saver Mode’.
It is powered by the latest Snapdragon 3100 processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, with NFC for Google Pay payments and a heart-rate monitor on-board.
eBuyNow says the new Moto 360 can be pre-ordered from November at moto360.com and will sell in December for $350USD (around $520AUD).
Only United States, Canada and United Kingdom availability is confirmed for now.
