Unpacked 2020.
Samsung is expected to reveal the Galaxy S20 line-up, possible clamshell folding phone, and Galaxy Buds+ on February 11 at San Francisco.
According to the media invitation, it seems to depict two white silhouette blobs, alluding to the shape of the S20 camera housing and folding phone when shut.
The Korean tech giant will announce their flagship smartphone range, consisting of the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra — not the S11 mokier to be fitting with a decade — if reports are correct.
Expect everything but the kitchen sink (and an S-Pen), including triple and quad camera set ups with wide, ultra-wide, macro, and telephoto lenses; the latest Samsung Exynos or Snapdragon chipsets; and bigger batteries.
This will power the S20’s 120Hz AMOLED display with a centre selfie camera punch-hole and minimal bezels, which has been confirmed by reliable insiders.
Additionally, as previously teased at the 2019 Samsung Developer Conference (SDC), a production-ready model of the folding flip phone will be announced — supposedly cheaper than the current Galaxy Fold and will rival the return of the Motorola Razr.
In terms of audio, we should also see the Galaxy Buds+, a refined version of Samsung’s true wireless earbuds from last year.
Renders suggest that the Buds+ will feature a new colour (blue), and reports suggest improved battery life on the earbuds and charging case and audio quality, though active noise cancellation is ambiguous.
The invitation comes as the firm is unveiling a host of consumer and concept products at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, including weirdly spec’d Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite with large square camera arrays — possibly hinting at what will come.
Samsung will live stream the Unpacked 2020 event online and on their website on 11am (PST).
