Electric vehicle charging owners and the media often criticise faulty public charging stations – adding to the fear and hesitancy – yet don’t investigate ‘why’.
As part of my contributing work for Wheels Media managing the WhichCar /Electric vehicle hub, I produced a meaningful story on the problem of unreliable public EV charging infrastructure.
Rather than merely publish a complaint (or rant), this piece represents true automotive journalism by talking to real people to understand complex issues, balanced reporting, and storytelling in the public interest.
The story was filed with a three week turnaround and offered valuable insights from three different types of sources – the charging network, infrastructure installer and repairer, and a real-life EV rideshare driver.
