The Connected by Henry Man has marked major milestones in 2023.

This year has marked a significant step forward for the independent automotive content platform, with nine independent vehicle evaluation reviews published (plus four for Zecar), 44 short-form videos, and 21 new Instagram posts.

While still small, The Connected website is now receiving organic traffic every day – ranking on the first two pages of search engines for some content.

It has also achieved the cadence of publishing at least one article every month in 2023 thanks to the support of some vehicle manufacturers.

Meanwhile, 2023 has catalysed a significant investment in short-form video content on Instagram and YouTube Shorts – complementing each vehicle review – with more than 76,600 views combined and counting.

Henry Man said 2024 will continue to be one of the only ‘truly’ independent automotive platforms – with no commercial interests – and produce content in the public interest.

“Going into 2024 and beyond, I am committed to filling the niche void of critically detailed vehicle reviews, balanced reporting, and producing content in the public interest,” Mr Man said.

“Evidence-driven, impartial, bite-sized content will be a new provision to better help educate consumers on the simple (and complex) reality of electric driving – amid fear, hesitancy and antagonistic viewpoints that unfortunately often involves misinformation, disinformation and sensationalism.

“The aim has always been to grow my self-brand and get as many eyeballs, but with no commercial interests and compromising on content quality.”

Henry Man is a former automotive journalist, who contributed to Wheels Media and Zecar in 2023. The Connected started in 2015 as a high school e-newsletter to highlight the intersection of technology and transportation.
